We're only operating according to the season, so we decided it's time to give our guests the chills. On October 3rd, from 7 PM members attended a voice opera show which includes a varied selection of arias from the Italian and French repertoire.
The event was set in one of our favourite autumnal sceneries, the garden of the Filipescu Cesianu House, a former aristrocratic residence, built in the Belle Epoque style.
Soprano Irina Ionescu starred the show, accompanied by Alina Pavalache on the piano. With a vast portfolio of opera roles, symphony solo parts and aria recitals, the coloratura soprano distinguishes herself as one of the top upcoming opera performers from Romania, quickly gaining national and international prominence with performances like Zerbinetta from ‘’Ariadne auf Naxos’’ by R.Strauss, Königin der Nacht from ‘’Die Zauberflöte’’ by W.A.Mozart, Rosina from “Il Barbiere di Seviglia” by Rossini, Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana”. Reviews of her performances rightfully note that she is “a name [...] that will be much talked about in the music world in the near future”.
After the show, we mingled and toasted a glass of prosecco to nonchalantly ignoring the autumn asthenia.
